NOTA HISTÓRICA: Diseñado por Eugen Langen para venderlo a la ciudad de Berlín, la instalación con estaciones elevadas fue construida en Barmen, Elberfeld y Vohwinkel entre 1897 y 1903; la primera vía fue inaugurada en 1901. Es el sistema de transporte por monorraíl más antiguo en el mundo.
