Perspectiva lateral de la locomotora de vapor inglesa tipo 231 (Pacific) nº 4468 "Mallard" de London and North Eastern Railway, con su ténder. Según se indica en el reverso, fue diseñada por Sir Nigel Gresley, Ingeniero mecánico jefe de la compañía LNER. Esta locomotora es famosa por conseguir el 3 de julio de 1938 un récord mundial de velocidad en tracción vapor de 126 millas por hora. Tiene tres cilindros de 18´5 x 26 pulgadas, ruedas acopladas de 6 pies y 8 pulgadas y un poder de tracción de 35,455 libras.
